Fact or Fiction: Computers Slow Due to Wearing Hardware Components.

Ideally, when you buy a new computer or laptop you are buying something that is built to last five to seven years. Whether you purchase a low-end bargain basement model or a high-end gaming rig, the computer you buy has components that ‘should’ last the test of time. Your purchase however could be the defining factor, for example, if you buy a low-end computer for gaming, its likely to last 12 months tops due to you wanting to upgrade. How you look after your computer can also play a part. If you don’t keep your computer in tip top shape, you risk shortening the lifespan through things like dust or overheating & other factors. In some cases, people think a slow computer may need replacing, when all it needs is some love.

Fact: Your computer should last 4-7 years if you make a solid purchase to start with and look after your computer. Some people like to update more regularly, but in most cases, it’s not required if you make a solid purchase to begin with.

If you’d like to prolong the life of your computer, let the Ballan Computers team know. We service Ballarat, Ballan & Bacchus Marsh.
